Santa Monica Private School choices are many, but which is the best for you? At Lighthouse Christian Academy, we emphasize Christian character as the key to high academic achievement. Our graduates have gone on to become doctors, dentists, engineers, lawyers, entrepreneurs, educators, etc. They have graduated from Harvard, Stanford, UC Berkeley, UCLA and USC, among many others.
Let me illustrate. A lot of the kids who were much better students than I in middle school and high school got left by the wayside in college. I graduated from UCLA with high honors, while others got distracted by social life, lack of purpose and direction. Character saw me through.
Former Lighthouse students include Joy Womack, the only American to integrate in the legendary Bolshoi Ballet. Also, current wide receiver Jordan Payton was among our numbers. Lighthouse attracts and cultivates excellence.
As the wife of cutting-edge heart doctor, Lawrence Czer, says, “It is more important to have honorable children than children on the honor roll.” As the head of Cedars Hospital heart transplantation program, Dr. Czer could easily dish out the high tuition demanded at many another Santa Monica Private School. But Dr. Czer, whose stem cell research for heart disease is a leader in the nation, preferred Lighthouse for all eight of his kids.
At this Santa Monica Private School, a strong liberal arts tradition with a fostering of the scientific spirit drives our students onward.
In addition to strong academics, Lighthouse is famous for its sports program. Twice we were runners-up in CIF Southern Section of CIF for 8-man football. We have varsity soccer and volleyball, with other sports.
Our arts program stands out as well. In 2012, a Lighthouse student won the L.A. county-wide art contest sponsored by the County Office of Education. Our students participate in professionally-produced dramas in the Pacific Palisade Pierson Playhouse.
