Philosophy

Welcome to the Lighthouse Christian Academy. We thank you for the opportunity to partner with you in the Christ-centered education of your child.

Director's Message 2009-2010

Our goals are as follows:

  1. That every individual has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and that they develop a love for the Lord. Matthew 28:19-20 says "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you."
  2. That every individual be a disciple of Jesus Christ, be thoroughly equipped for every good work, II Timothy 3:17, so that they may, "go into all the world and preach the gospel." - Mark 16:15. This is accomplished by consistently attending church services and involvement in church ministries.
  3. That every individual grow in Christian character and scholarship so that each individual's "light" will shine to glorify the Lord. Matthew 5:16.
  4. That the home, church and the school work together to accomplish these goals.
  5. That the home agree with the doctrinal statement of the Lighthouse Church and support the vision of the church and school, which is world evangelism, church planting and discipleship.

Mission Statement

Following the Biblical Hebrew tradition, the Lighthouse Christian Academy’s mission is to disciple young men and women to follow in the way established by the Word of God, exemplified in the life of Jesus Christ. Graduates of this church ministry should be equipped to defend their faith, and live a lifestyle that is exemplary in its imitation of true biblical morality and standards. We accomplish this by training young men and women to have Godly character through the constant washing by the Word, and the memorization of scripture. We believe that men and women of character will be equipped to work wholeheartedly at whatever task they are being required to complete. Therefore, as a result of making character a priority, we are able to train our students academically with a rigorous college preparatory curriculum. This Christ-centered environment promotes the development of a sincere relationship with God the Father, through Jesus Christ and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit to transform the heart and mind.

Purpose

The Lighthouse Christian Academy is a non-profit Christian school operated as a ministry of the Lighthouse Christian Church. It is a co-educational, college preparatory school which offers alternative academic tracks for those interested in pursuing alternate career paths not requiring a traditional four year college or university education. The Academy serves students who indicate their desire to succeed in a truly Christian environment with a strong academic curriculum. Following a liberal arts tradition, the curriculum aims at preparing each student for admission to a university. The curriculum emphasizes the need of every man and woman to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ by focusing on Judeo-Christian values and teaching. The message of salvation and redemption through Christ alone permeates discussions in every academic discipline. The Academy emphasizes effective oral and written communication, study skills, critical and interpretive thinking, and the ability to make Godly, rational, and informed judgments by adhering to biblical tenets when making decisions.
