Extra Curricular

Creative and Fine Arts Program

Drama

At the Lighthouse Christian Academy, students have the opportunity to participate in every extra-curricular drama and choir performance, if they have the talent and desire to succeed in these areas. It is a tradition for “The Lighthouse Players” to perform a Christmas Play at Pierson Playhouse in Pacific Palisades. Past performances include musical productions entitled The Real Jewel, The Christmas Cowboy, and Santa Cause. The Annual Spring Play and Dessert Night features short story style productions, monologues and vignettes.

2008 Christmas Play

The Annual Christmas play was held December 20, 21, 22nd at Pierson Playhouse in Pacific Palisades.  The Christmas Cowboy performed to a sell-out crowd each night. Play by Pamela Sommer, Choreography by Holly Photenhauer, Score by Phil Hughes, and directed by Julian Bailey. The simple message of Christ sustaining us through difficult times was our gift this season. Click Here for our most recent drama production.

Choir

The Choir performs a Fall Harvesters Program and a creative spring production from selections such as Les Miserables to this year’s “Dangerous Worlds” Production.

Film

The annual student film festival includes the cumulative body of student work throughout the year. Students learn filming techniques, editing skills and post-production creativity. This past year, graduates of LCA won Best Drama for “Dressed To Kill” in the college Campus Movie Fest competition.
