Lighthouse Christian Academy Receives Full Accreditation!

February 2007, a team from the International Christian Accrediting Association at ORUEF in Tulsa,  OK visited LCA.  After careful review of the Standards, the team spent time with teachers, administrators, staff and students.  The site committee was impressed and had high praise for the faculty.  Here are their comments:

-"LCA is to be commended for their efforts to develop multiple academic tracks that are addressing the needs of a diverse population."

-"The administration demonstrates a tremendously strong passion for the spiritual, academic life skill and character development of each student who attends LCA."

-"The LCA teaching, administrative and support staff under the leadership of the Principal has developed a strong spiritually  nurturing family environment for staff and students alike."

-"LCA teachers are to be commended for their sacrificial commitment and Godly role models as they invest into the lives of their students by practically integrating God’s word into daily academic and elective courses.

Road To College

Following a liberal arts tradition, the LCA curriculum aims at preparing each student for admission to a university.  While LCA is a college preparatory school, it is also co-educational offering alternative academic tracks for those interested in pursuing alternate career paths not requiring a traditional four year college or university education.

College Fair:
Each year there is a College Fair on campus, which brings in colleges and universities from Southern California so students and parents have an opportunity to talk with admissions counselors, hear presentations and evaluate choices and options for their student(s).

Job Fair:
The students are exposed to a variety of careers at the annual Job Fair. This past year we featured among others an Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon, Speech Therapist, Immigration Lawyer, and an Architect. Other career paths included Mill Worker, Policeman, Plumber, Electrician and Early Childhood Educator.

Santa Monica College:
LCA also works closely with Santa Monica College and the Scholars Program for students who wish to take their undergrad requirement classes at the junior college level. The Scholars Program puts them on track for University transfer with SMC boasting an 80+ percent transfer rate.
